  • Yes, just return your Colonial knife™ to: Customer Service Dept., P.O. Box 960 North Scituate, RI 02857

2) Type of blade steel

  • We use the standard 440A and 420 high carbon cutlery stainless steel along with MIM and ATS-34

3) Type of Rockwell

  • Colonial™ knives all have a Rockwell between 57 and 60 on the c-scale. A Rockwell Over 60 and the blade becomes too brittle, under 57 and you will have a problem re-sharpening the blade plus edge life will be shortened.

4) Worth of Older Colonial™ knives

  • According to the “The Standard Knife collectors Guide” third edition written by Roy Ritchie and Ron Steward and published by Collectors Books a division of Schroder Publishing Co.,Inc. the collectable rating for a Colonial knife™ is considered “Very Good”. The European counterpart of “ The Standard Knife Collectors Guide” called “Messen Enclclopedie” written by Ton Hartnik of Germany and published by Rebo Productions; Lisse 1999 lists the Colonial Knife™ product line as very collectable and is a desired product by Europeans.
The collectors value of Colonial Knives are between ($25.00) good to ($150.00) very good to ($3,000.) for a rear knife in mint condition such as the Colonial Marine Corp fighting of which less than 10,000 pieces were manufactured for the Marine Corp during WWII.
Without seeing your Colonial knife™ it is difficult to tell it’s value, however you should feel comfortable to know that during the last 60 years of our companies history, Colonial knives on average doubled in value very ten years.
